The
National Institute of Drug Abuse says that
addiction is a chronic, relapsing brain disease
that is characterized by compulsive drug seeking
and use, despite harmful consequences. It is
considered a brain disease because drugs change the
brain—they change its structure and how it
works. These brain changes can be long lasting, and
can lead to the harmful behaviors seen in people
who abuse drugs.
Collaboration
means sharing knowledge, learning and building
consensus. We as a coalition need your knowledge
and direction. As we continue to discuss future
goals and direction we need representation from
all. Addiction is a very complex problem that
affects all of us. Please come and be a part of the
